If you want to see my previous teaching practices data click here

Note: not all the semesters' information is not displayed because in first years we used Mahara website and we could not save the data. It will be recovered soon.

Who am I?
My name is Nour Obaid Musabeh Alteneiji. I am twenty-one years old. Currently, I am a student in the Higher Colleges of Technology, Sharjah women campus. As you can see from the content of my e-portfolio, I am a student in the education major. I specialty is Early Childhood Education. Now, I am in my fourth year, the seventh semester. This is my senior year. During studying in this major we train in a school in each semester. I have 7 trained in various international and government kindergartens and each one has a special story. I have a slight experience in dealing with special needs pupils and a good experience in teaching. Hope to become a better teacher in the future.

Teaching Philosophy:

Post-every experience, teaching philosophy believes are changing. From one of my believes and really love to do is that every teaching practicum has unique story and impact on me as a teacher.

To become a successful teacher and provide the best learning for my pupils I need to consider several points and believes

First, as every childhood teacher, and based on most of the educational theories, I believe that playing, and enjoyment are the core for learning especially in early childhood phase.
All children with different levels need playing but in a different amount. Moreover, when teacher involves playing to learning, she can see the magical learning atmosphere in children behavior where students urge to learn, enjoy and engage with it. It is a magical effect that amazes every teacher and I like to see it as a teacher in my lessons.

Second, planning learning based on children needs, abilities, and favorite elements. Even their favorite cartoon characters.
I believe every class is different as every child and every class reflects unique features. Using the same strategies or teaching elements cannot be effective for every class. In fact, this point can be a magical too where students start to enjoy learning, do it effectively, and foster their relationship with you.

Third, create a vital learning environment. I consider this point an important because I saw it during previous practicums. I know it a huge effort in any teacher, but learning will vanish and forgetting if the teacher neglects it. This point is a reinforcement learning for children. A teacher should create learning activities, tools, games, prepare and constantly change the environment because this is the most areas where the child spends his time. This is not limited by emerging literacy concept, but it extends to every learning outcome and subject.

Fourth, involving every educational belive and theory. I believe that reviewing and using educational theories helps a lot in enhancing, supporting teaching performance, and provide better choices to learn.
Every theory and approach carries different ideas, however, using all them by mixing them and pick the appropriate elements for the students generate superior results.

Fifth, the best can be done by yourself. To become a perfect teacher and provide a high standard learning for your pupils, you do not need a great school or curriculum to use. Sometimes, best schools exist, but teaching performing is absent.
As a teacher, you can create the best learning atmosphere by planning, choosing effective ways to learn, manipulate with learning elements, even with learning theories or teaching approaches. For example, as a teacher, I can create a Montessori class through adopting some of her ideas or create similar elements or even let children teach others new things. I would like to adopt a teaching approach for a day with my students so, we can experience learning differently every time. Such as learning outside in the nature like Foerbel learning approach.

What encourages more to this idea is the seventh semester school that I trained in also, my MST who sometimes change the learning system in the class. For instance, making a free choice lesson to choose any activity or a writing lesson focus.

Active learning example from my class.

 The purpose of the e-portfolio:

There are many benefits and purposes of using the e-portfolio. Mainly, it is a useful, effective technological instrument to document my progress through my studying years in education-early childhood major. Through it, the student can display his or her progress, work and see the significant development in the required skills in the major.

Second,  e-portfolio as university file for future work interviews. It can be a helpful tool to illustrate my effort and my abilities in work interviews.

Third, document the important parts and experiences. Through these years, we went through a lot of training practicums, and learn from various courses related to our major. From them, we had many unique experiences that deserve to documented.

Fourth, write journals about my teaching experiences. Fifth, display your work to people online and finally, communicate with others online around the world.
